The 17th meeting of the Board of Directors of Association of National Census and Statistics Directors of America, Asia and the Pacific /ANCSDAAP/ was held virtual on 25 August 2020. Board of Directors 17th meeting was chaired by Ms. Khuslen Zorigt, Director of Foreign relations and cooperation division, representing Ms. Bayanchimeg Chilkhaasuren, Vice Chairperson of National Statistics Office of Mongolia.
At this Board of Directors meeting, the members of the Board supported the proposal to hold the 30th Population Census Conference via virtual from 2-4 December, 2020. The NSO Mongolia scheduled to hold the 30th Population Census Conference in Ulaanbaatar on June 10-12, 2020, but the conference had already been postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Board of Directors 17th meeting the venue and timing of the next 31st Population Census Conference, Statistics Bureau of Japan, formally agreed to host the 31st PCC in 2022 in Tokyo. Accordingly, the theme for the 31st Population Census Conference would be “The impact of COVID-19 on the 2020 round of censuses and how to overcome the ensuing challenges”. During BODs 17th meeting, the representative from NSO of Mongolia, introduced the outline of the successfully organized Population and Housing Census 2020.
